Yes you can buy them in Mexico and confiscation is not likely.

But why go to Mexico. You can get Amoxicillin at Costco for about $5 for 30 tables. Of course, you will need a prescription, but if you go to a doctor you can get that as part of the visit.

yes u can but beware of sting operations. There r a lot of sting operations in place by Tijuana police & DO NOT let them catch u with it because last time they threatened ''federal prison'' for attempting to smuggle contraband into the US. So be very careful of those bastards. There r a lot of pharmacies at the entry of the border. DO NOT take ur car inside for safety reasons. If u run into any trouble call these numbers:

Yes u can- I live in Baja & sometimes buy meds at a ''Roma'' pharmacy- but u can basically tell a good one by the way it looks- if they have put money inot making it clean & professional looking- then it is very likely an above board place.

You can take them back into the US if u have a prescription- & there is no reason u can not go down to Playas de Rosarito & go to the ''Cruz Roja'' (Red Cross) just off the main street (ask anyone where it is for directions- or drive south until u see a red cross sign) & see a Dr. for $7.00. They have quite a few English speaking Dr. is & they will give u a prescription that u keep- goto a pharmacy- get ur pills, have some tacos- go to the beach, catch a circus for $1.00 & then go home happy & healthy!

You may be able to do all of this closer to the border- ask when u cross where the closest Cruz Roja is!!

You definitely can & I have never heard of it actually being confiscated (although I know the US can do it).

We bought Tetracycline when we were in Nogales (border town in Arizona) & had no problems.

I lived in Mexico City for a little while & got very sick. My boyfriend took me to a Sanborns (it is a department store type place that also has a pharmacy section) & talked to the pharmacist about my symptoms. They know more than doctors as to what is the best medication. The point though is to speak to an actual pharmacist, & not just a person who works there.

yeah you can..my parents buy medicine there all the time without a prescription...and it is alot cheaper too.

I have lived in Mexico 3 years now..and I have never had a problem with pharmacies. For instance, I was paying $40 in the US for birth control, & when I ran out here, I went in to the pharmacy, looked up my pills, & bought some without a prescription. I now pay $8 a box! Also, (and I DO NOT promote this) u can self-prescribe here. If u r feeling sick, & u KNOW what it is...you can ask for just about anything in a pharmacy. I have purchased Amoxicillin MANY times here..most doctors automatically prescribe this for any infection. A box is VERY inexpensive...I would stock up on a few. The most popular chain here is Farmacia Guadalajara (they r in EVERY city in MX & very reliable). They carry the largest supply of meds plus any imported health care items. Good luck!

Yes, it is available. But the thing is finding the best place to buy it. A problem with buying it in Mexico is that it may be fake or cut below the strength you need or think you are buying. As for a pharmacy I recommend that you find the newest and most modern looking one. They will probably tend to be honest in what they sell you.
