call your dentist and ask for zithromax or other antibiotic. Dentists prescribe amoxicillin first because it is fairly well tolerated and very inexpensive. If you do not have good insurance be prepared to pay for some of the newer meds, but well worth it. I once went through five courses of inexpensive antibiotics for an oral infection; within two doses of the ''designer'' meds, my infection was almost gone. Never again with the cheap stuff . I need to get well fast.
